ISO Group Defense & Aerospace hires Executive VP, for Washington Ops


ISO Group a leader in spare parts logistics for the Defense and Aerospace industries has hired Hesham Islam Commander, U.S. Navy Retired as Executive VP for Washington Operations.

CDR Hesham H. Islam joined ISO Group in October 2012, after serving as the Vice President for International Relations with DRS Technologies from August 2009 to April 2012. Prior to DRS he served in the Pentagon as the Special Assistant for International Affairs to the Deputy Secretary of Defense, The Honorable Gordon England, from 2005-2009. Born in Cairo, Egypt, and fluent in Arabic, CDR Islam immigrated to the United States in 1980 after graduating from the Arabian Gulf Academy in Basra, Iraq. Commissioned in the U. S. Navy in January 1985, he served for twenty years, qualifying as a Surface Warfare Office, and made numerous global deployments on USS SYLVANIA (AFS-2), USS HARRY E. YARNELL (CG-17), USS ARTHUR W. RADFORD (DD-963),CARRIER GROUP TWO (CG-2) and USS SAMUEL B. ROBERTS (FFG-58).

Shore assignments included earning a Masterof Arts Degree in National Security Affairs with special emphasis on Middle Eastern Studies at the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California, and service on the Operations and Plans staff of the Chief of Naval Operations and the Secretary of the Navy.

Personal awards include the Secretary of Defense Medal for Outstanding Public Service, Legion of Merit, Navy Commendation Medal (three awards), Navy Achievement Medal (four awards) and various service and campaign medals.
